Keep working

I think HTML isn't hard at all. It takes time to create a website. All you have to do is keep working on your website nonstop. It took me more than 6 hours to do my first Project. All i had to do was keep testing the website with my code. You don't like it, you have to read your code again, think about your code, refine your code, and make sure you use the right code. I didn't know much about HTML but i'm willing to spend a whole day just to test the code and apply it on my website. I hope everybody will do a great job on their first project.

Project 1

Well, project 1 was a bit tedious, but after focusing like crazy and spending 5 hours of straight html coding i was pretty happy with the outcome. The only thing that bugged me was the fact that i could not get certain table data borders to erase. I tried putting in but it did not work so i left it like that. I guess i'll try to get help on this because it's annoying me. If it is not possible then oh well.

Project One

So i was almost finished but decided to look back at my page and just had to change the background image due to the background taking too much attention from the actual page. I changed my page to a diffrent one background that made me happy and worked out perfectly fine. It's good to look at every page and try and figure out wether you need to do last minute changes to make your page better.

Great site for design colors

It's not always easy to find/figure out some really good color combinations for websites. Adobe Kuler can really help with that. Though many of the color schemes aren't web friendly, you can find a few that nail it perfectly- combining good artistic choice and internet friendliness. I highly recommend checking it out.

A Perfect Balance

Hi there all art 201 Tues/Thurs class... seeing as many of you have already posted, I guess it is time I share as well.
Similar to the many of you whom have expressed knowledge of various WYSIWYG platforms, I too, have been submerged into the realm of "point and push" web design. Though my use of Dreamweaver is fairly limited, I have tremendous experience using Microsoft's [rapidly evolving] SharePoint Services (better known as: MOSS/WSS). I like to believe that I am proficient amongst the current 2007 platform while tirelessly ramping up for the soon to be released 2010 updated version. For those of you wondering why I use SharePoint? I currently work for an occupational medical provider which maintains clinics nationwide, with their primary headquarters in Valencia, Ca. Hired as an intern for intranet based web design / IT administrator, I spend the majority of my working hours communicating with endusers to further site development.
Thus, the day to day exploration of this "design" tool in addition to the research of third party applications, advanced capabilities, and the ever increasing need for improved efficiency, customized scripts and Visual Studio created workflows for our many users utilizing this tool.
So even though SharePoint is a visual "drag and drop" web design tool, like Dreamweaver, the need to know programming and code is crucial to the needs of the company; especially for purely customized reporting/tracking/etc. of stats and data.

After that far longer than intended introduction, in regards to this class and on learning HTML coding for our first project - I need to admit, albeit tedious and sometimes grueling, the knowledge we are obtaining from understanding such basic design concepts is such a solid foundation for future opportunities. And from a totally personal perspective, the ability to explore my own creative intents and desires while being one hundred percent in control is the perfect balance for my creative hunger.

Finalizing project 1

I'm about to finish project one. It will hopefully be ready by the end of this class. The theme I've chosen is a brief introduction to the seasons of Sweden. Hopefully someone will find this useful and interesting ;)
